Dear Coding Roundtable Colleagues:
Announcement: Lisa Kronsberg Has Volunteered to be the MHIMA
Coding Roundtable Coordinator
It is my extreme pleasure to welcome Lisa
Kronsberg as our MHIMA Coding Roundtable Coordinator:
Hi, my name is Lisa Kronsberg. I have worked the
past 22 years for St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. With recent
structure changes, I am currently employed with the Sisters of
Mercy Health System as the Coding Supervisor over St. John’s
Mercy Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital in Washington. I
graduated from SLU with my RHIA and have recently graduated from
Stephens College with an MBA. I also have my CCS-which I feel is
important for coding professionals and I am studying to take my
CCS-P. I have previously been an adjunct professor for Stephens
College. Also I am a past-president for EMHIMA.
I am pleased and excited to be your new Roundtable Coordinator!
I love education, as you can see from my experiences listed
above, and feel it is vitally important to our profession. These
are exciting times ahead of us with the nearing of ICD-10! I see
the Roundtable Coordinator position as the glue that will bring
us all together and make sure we are ready for what lies ahead.
Over the next three years I plan to keep you advised on changes
in our profession and what you need to do to prepare for ICD-10.
I also hope to reinstitute the one hour lunch and learn
sessions. I would like to see the regional associations share
their educational opportunities with one another for the benefit
of the entire state. Together we have an incredible amount of
knowledge.
Please feel free to contact me with your thoughts or
suggestions. MoHIMA and I want to serve the membership and need
your input to do so. Please email me at

MHIMA Regional Associations’ Coding Roundtable
Activities
The Eastern Missouri Health Information
Management Association (EMHIMA) conducted a coding roundtable
August 21, 2010 at St. Charles Community College in St. Charles,
MO. This is a tradition for EMHIMA and proved to be a highlight
of their summer education program schedule. (mohima.org/regional
association) Deanna McCarty and the rest of the EMHIMA Board did
a wonderful job putting together an agenda that was a hit with
the audience. Lisa Kronsberg presented ICD 10, Deanna discussed
the 3 day window issue, Maggie Gambill reviewed the ICD-9-CM
2010 changes and provided an AHIMA and MHIMA update.
AHIMA Coding Roundtable Summit, Chicago, IL, July
18, 2010
Lisa Kronsberg and I attended the 2010 AHIMA
Coding Roundtable Summit, held in Chicago, IL on July 18, 2010.
The purpose of attending the meeting was to introduce our new
MHIMA CRC to the other CSA CRCs. The AHIMA CRC staff
facilitator, Kathy DeVault, provided excellent information and
resources that are going to be very helpful for Lisa in her
effort to coordinate the MHIMA coding roundtable activities.
MHIMA ICD 10 Subcommittee
The MHIMA ICD 10 Subcommittee will be meeting by
phone on September 2, 2010. If you are already a member of the
subcommittee, watch your email for call-in information. If you
are interested in joining the subcommittee, please advise

AHIMA Website For ICD-10 Information
Another reminder to access the AHIMA ICD-10
website. It has lots of useful information for members as they
prepare for the big event.

education tool!
AHIMA Annual Convention, Orlando FL, September
2010
The AHIMA Coding Community workshops will be
held September 25-26 prior to the Annual Convention. Many MHIMA
members have attended these workshops in the past. We hope more
members will consider attending this year. With ICD 10 just
around the corner, this would be a great educational
opportunity.
Thanks to all MHIMA Coding Roundtable
participants!
I want to thank all my fellow HIM professionals
who have made my MHIMA coding roundtable coordinator experience
so exciting and worthwhile. To see the coding roundtable
initiative make such strides in Missouri, has been very
rewarding. Without your support, MHIMA’s Coding Roundtable
initiatives could not happen. We sincerely appreciate your
support. Lisa is looking forward to working with all of you!
